When the current version of Hyundai Sonata (i40 in Europe) hit the market, the competitors were confused and the public was left in disbelief. Its extremely bold style and equipped with lots of equipment attracted way more attention compared to its established rivals. However it didn’t take long for Hyundai’s competitors to take measures and introduce even more improved models.
That is why Hyundai had to re-invent Sonata that is expected in 2015. As a reminder, the current version of Hyundai Sonata was unveiled to the public in 2009 in Los Angeles.
The new 2015 Hyundai Sonata will bring the latest Fluidic Precision design language of the company, evolution of the current look with slightly sharper and clear lines in order to produce an impression of precision. LED light clusters on both ends are clearly visible and it looks like the grille will be a little bit more upright and more highlighted. This will probably be a styling reminiscent of the solutions seen in the HCD -14 concept.
2015 Hyundai Sonata will have more serious and more mature look. Besides that it will be positioned a little bit higher when it comes to engine power. Based on the existing but revised platform it will carry only turbo charged engines with basic 1.6 turbo unit from Veloster. A hybrid version of Sonata will also be available for those who want to follow the trends.
Hyundai is trying to target drivers that are trying to find powerful and comfortable cars at affordable prices.
