The next generation of popular Opel Astra will be presented in 2015. According to some reliable sources Opel’s compact car will take over some designing elements from the Monza Concept introduced last year.
Concept cars and designs studies that are presented by the manufacturers on famous trade shows usually do not develop into fully consistent production version. However, their role is very important because it gives us basic understanding of the direction in which the manufacturer will focus for their future models.
According to these same sources, Opel’s Monza concept that has certainly attracted a lot of attention of the audience at the Frankfurt Car Show in 2013 will serve as a benchmark for future design solutions of Astra. It is expected that the new generation of Astra to get larger grille with a decorative slat curved upward in the shape of a wing and rope, with trapezoidal headlights.
The front bumper of 2015 Opel Astra will be significantly redesigned and will have larger air vents, giving the future Astra more aggressive look compared to the current model.
For the first time in the history of this model, Astra will be produced outside of the borders of Germany. Opel and Vauxhall have announced that the new generation of this vehicle will be produced in the factories in Poland and the United Kingdom. An additional investment of 300 million Euros is planned in these facilities in order to produce this car.
2015 Opel Astra will have several types of improved engines. The standard motors will include the latest 1.6 liter turbocharged petrol and diesel engines and there will be at least 3 more different engines by the time this car hits the market.
